NAC Trading Ltd was founded in November 2003, operating import and export trade between China and New Zealand.
Initially our business was mainly importing of food and groceries from China (we are an approved supplier to Foodstuffs).
More recently our focus has been in exporting logs, lamb and honey to China. Our logging business is exporting NZ Radiata Pine, with the main market being in the north of China. We were the first company in New Zealand to export large volumes of New Zealand Pine to China by container, which has revolutionised New Zealand's exporting of logs.
Due to the growing demand of logs in China, NAC has grown to be a major player in the market in procuring not only logs but also buying large scale forests and actively seeking to bid for other significant forests. This is turn is helping the NZ economy to generate more employment in the forestry industry.
NAC is investing in the NZ economy on a large scale already which is evident in the way we have acquired our current forests and aggressively pursuing other large forest bids.
Because we are a major player in the market, very sound financially, have established a good working relationship with our major partners in NZ, we have a proven track record of doing business in NZ.
Due to NAC's strong working history both here and China, we have been able to do this very successfully.
In 2007, we become the first NZ Lamb product importing trade company in Shandong Province, which covers Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Hebei, Beijing and Tianjing areas. In future, our lamb exports will make up over 10% of all exported NZ lamb to China.
In 2009, we became the exclusive agents of ORA Manuka honey in China. We have, successfully entered the Chinese high-grade honey market, covering 20 cities in China in over 80 leading supermarkets. We have since developed our own honey brand, Hauora Honey which will enter the Chinese market in early 2011.
In 2011 we became ISO9001 certified with a Quality Management System Certificate.
